#BeTheChange

#ForPeopleForPlanet is our promise. #BeTheChange is your invitation.

Every meaningful transformation starts with someone deciding to do something differently.

#BeTheChange is our name for that moment — and for the people and organisations willing to turn intention into action.

It isn't about being perfect. It's about starting, building, learning, and making things better.

1. What It Means

To #BeTheChange is to move from caring about a problem to helping build a solution.

It could be:

  • An NGO that replaces spreadsheets and disconnected tools with a proper member or community portal.

  • A local authority that makes a public service genuinely easier for its community to access.

  • A founder who demonstrates that a business can create value while taking people and the planet seriously.

  • A community that uses technology to make participation, communication, or access easier.

Change doesn't always require something revolutionary.

Sometimes it starts with better infrastructure and the decision to begin.

2. How We Support It

Talk is cheap. Infrastructure takes time, expertise, and resources.

That's why, where our capacity allows, we look for ways to make selected infrastructure more accessible to organisations working directly on meaningful social or environmental challenges.

Impact Access

Eligible NGOs, community organisations, and local authorities may be considered for selected platforms or services through our Impact Access Program.

Access is subject to eligibility, verification, available capacity, and the specific needs of the organisation.

Mission-First Engineering

When we build or configure infrastructure, we consider the purpose behind the project — not just the technology itself.

Where relevant, we use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as one framework for thinking about potential social and environmental impact.

Partnership Over Transaction

We want our work to create useful outcomes, not simply more software.

That means listening to the people using the infrastructure, understanding the problem we're trying to solve, and improving the system as we learn.

Your outcome matters to us.

3. Why We Do This

Some of the organisations doing valuable work in their communities have limited access to technology resources.

We believe that shouldn't automatically prevent them from using good digital infrastructure.

When the right technology makes a service easier to access, a community easier to reach, or a process easier to manage, the benefits can extend far beyond the technology itself.

That's why we believe in finding practical ways to contribute where we can.

We don't see impact support as charity separated from our business.

We see it as part of building a business that has a broader definition of return.

4. Your Move

If you're working on something that serves people, communities, or the planet, we'd like to hear about it.

  1. Tell us what you're trying to change.

  2. Book a session with us to explore the challenge and possible solutions.

  3. We'll assess whether the development.city ecosystem can help.

  4. If you're eligible for Impact Access, we'll discuss what support may be possible.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you start.

You just need to know what you're trying to change.

#BeTheChange

The hashtag is free.

And, where we can make it happen, some of the infrastructure might be too.
