At fortheworld OÜ, we want our pricing, cancellations, and refund rules to be clear before you purchase a service.
Because our services include digital products, software-enabled services, subscriptions, consultations, and custom digital work, the applicable cancellation and refund rules can differ depending on what you purchase.
This policy explains the general approach.
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
1. The General Principle
Before purchasing a service, you should have enough information to understand:
What you are purchasing
What is included
How much it costs
Whether it is recurring
When the service starts
Whether it can be cancelled
Whether a refund may be available
The applicable product page, proposal, order, subscription terms, or agreement may contain additional information.
Where specific terms apply to your purchase, those terms form part of the agreement.
2. Digital Services
Many of our services are digital and may begin being delivered shortly after purchase.
Examples include:
Digital infrastructure
SaaS services
Software-enabled services
Digital subscriptions
Digital configurations
Online access
Consultations
Training
Custom digital work
Because digital services can involve immediate access, configuration, provisioning, reserved capacity, or work performed specifically for you, cancellation and refund rights may differ from those applicable to ordinary physical goods.
Where applicable law permits cancellation or withdrawal, those rights remain unaffected by this policy.
3. SaaS & Subscriptions
Some development.city services may be provided on a recurring subscription basis.
Before subscribing, the applicable service should make clear:
The subscription price
The billing interval
What is included
How the subscription renews
How cancellation works
Any applicable minimum commitment
Cancelling a Subscription
Unless different terms apply to your specific service, you can request cancellation of a recurring subscription through the cancellation method provided for that service.
Cancellation normally prevents future renewals.
It does not automatically mean that previously paid subscription periods are refunded.
You will generally retain access until the end of the paid period unless the applicable service terms state otherwise.
Partial Subscription Periods
Unless required by applicable law or specifically agreed otherwise, we do not generally provide partial-period refunds simply because a subscription is cancelled before the end of a billing period.
4. Digital Services Already Delivered
Once a digital service has been substantially delivered, configured, activated, or made available to you, a refund may not be available simply because you later decide that you no longer want the service.
This can apply to services such as:
Configured digital infrastructure
Custom setup
Onboarding
Training already delivered
Completed consultations
Custom integrations
Custom development
Other work performed specifically for you
However, this does not remove any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
5. Custom Projects & Development Work
Custom work is different from a standard subscription.
When you commission custom digital work, we may allocate time, resources, infrastructure, and third-party services specifically to your project.
The applicable proposal or agreement should define:
Scope
Price
Payment schedule
Milestones
Cancellation terms
Deliverables
Acceptance
Ownership or licensing
Support
Other relevant conditions
If you cancel a custom project after work has begun, the financial consequences will depend on the applicable agreement and the amount of work already performed.
Where appropriate, you may be charged for work completed up to the effective cancellation date and for non-cancellable third-party costs incurred specifically for the project.
6. Consultations & Sessions
Consultations, training sessions, strategy sessions, and similar appointments involve reserving a specific time.
Cancellation
If you need to cancel or change a scheduled session, please provide notice as early as possible.
Unless different terms apply to your booking:
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice when cancelling or rescheduling a consultation.
Where sufficient notice is provided, we may offer:
Rescheduling
Credit toward another session
Another appropriate arrangement
Less Than 24 Hours' Notice
If a session is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours' notice, the session may be treated as used and may not be eligible for a refund or free rescheduling.
This may also apply where you do not attend the scheduled session.
Exceptions
We understand that unexpected things happen.
If something genuinely unavoidable occurs, contact us and we'll consider the circumstances reasonably.
7. No-Show Sessions
If you do not attend a scheduled session and do not contact us within a reasonable timeframe, the session may be treated as completed.
Where appropriate, we may offer a rescheduling option, but this is not guaranteed.
Repeated no-shows may result in future bookings requiring different payment or scheduling conditions.
8. Refunds for Service Problems
A service not working as expected is not necessarily the same thing as a refund situation.
If something isn't working correctly, please contact support first.
We may be able to:
Fix the problem
Restore functionality
Correct configuration
Provide a workaround
Replace the affected component
Offer another appropriate remedy
If a service materially fails to meet the agreed scope and cannot reasonably be corrected, the appropriate remedy will depend on the applicable agreement and mandatory legal rights.
If something is broken, tell us before assuming the money is gone.
9. Third-Party Services
Some services depend on third-party providers.
Examples include:
Hosting
Payment processing
Authentication
Scheduling
APIs
Communication
Storage
Other infrastructure
If a third-party provider experiences an outage or changes its service, this does not automatically create a right to a refund.
We will assess the situation according to the applicable service terms and our responsibilities to you.
Where we are responsible for resolving the issue, we'll make reasonable efforts to restore or replace the affected functionality.
10. Free Trials & Promotional Offers
Some services may occasionally include:
Free trials
Promotional periods
Discounts
Credits
Special offers
Complimentary access
The specific conditions of a promotion will be communicated when the offer is made.
Unless otherwise stated, promotional access does not automatically create a permanent entitlement to the promotional price or service.
If a free trial converts into a paid subscription, the conversion terms should be presented before or during the trial according to applicable requirements.
11. Payments Made by Mistake
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact us as soon as possible.
Examples include:
Duplicate charges
Incorrect subscription charges
Incorrect amounts
Charges after a confirmed cancellation
Other billing errors
Provide the relevant transaction or invoice information where available.
We will investigate the issue and, where an error on our side is confirmed, correct it appropriately.
12. Refund Processing
Where a refund is approved, it will normally be returned using the original payment method where technically and legally possible.
The time it takes for the refund to appear can depend on:
The payment provider
Your bank
The card network
The payment method
Processing times outside our control
We cannot control the exact time taken by your bank or payment provider to make the funds available.
13. Chargebacks
If you believe a transaction was made incorrectly or you have a dispute about a charge, please contact us first where possible.
We will investigate legitimate billing disputes and attempt to resolve them directly.
This does not prevent you from exercising any rights you have through your payment provider or under applicable law.
14. Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory statutory rights under the laws applicable to your purchase.
These rights may include cancellation, withdrawal, refund, repair, replacement, price reduction, or other remedies depending on:
Your country
The type of service
Whether you are acting as a consumer or business
When the service began
Whether digital content or digital services were supplied
Whether you expressly requested immediate performance
Other circumstances required by law
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict mandatory consumer rights.
Where applicable law gives you a right that is more favourable than this policy, the applicable law takes precedence.
15. Digital Content & Immediate Performance
Some digital services may begin immediately after purchase.
Depending on the applicable consumer-protection rules, you may be asked to expressly acknowledge that:
The digital service or content will begin being supplied before the end of a statutory withdrawal period; and/or
You understand the consequences of requesting immediate performance where applicable.
The exact requirements depend on the nature of the service and the applicable law.
We will use appropriate notices or consent mechanisms where legally required.
16. Business Customers
If you purchase services on behalf of a company, organisation, or other business entity, the commercial terms agreed between the parties will generally govern cancellation and refund arrangements, subject to mandatory applicable law.
Business customers may therefore have different cancellation or refund conditions from individual consumers.
For custom projects and larger engagements, these conditions should be established in the proposal or service agreement before work begins.
17. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
If you want to cancel a service or request a refund, contact us through the appropriate billing or support channel.
Please include:
Your name
Organisation, if applicable
The service involved
Order, invoice, or transaction reference if available
Date of purchase
Reason for the request, where relevant
What outcome you are requesting
You don't need to write a legal essay.
Just tell us what happened and what you'd like us to do.
18. Our Approach to Refund Requests
We aim to handle refund requests fairly and consistently.
We'll consider:
The type of service
Whether the service has already been delivered
Whether work has already been performed
Whether infrastructure has already been provisioned
Whether third-party costs have been incurred
The applicable agreement
Whether the customer is a consumer or business
Applicable statutory rights
The circumstances of the request
Where we have discretion, we may choose to provide a refund, credit, rescheduling, partial refund, or another reasonable solution even where we are not legally required to do so.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund & Cancellations Policy from time to time.
When we make changes, we'll update the Last Updated date.
Changes will not retroactively remove rights that already apply to a purchase unless permitted by applicable law.
Where specific contractual terms apply to an existing customer relationship, those terms continue to govern that relationship unless properly amended.
20. Questions
If you're unsure whether a service can be cancelled or refunded, ask before purchasing whenever possible.
We're happy to clarify the applicable terms.
It is much easier to make expectations clear before a purchase than to untangle a misunderstanding afterwards.
The Short Version
Subscriptions can be cancelled in accordance with their applicable terms.
Completed digital work isn't automatically refundable.
Consultations should normally be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice.
Billing errors should be reported promptly.
Custom projects follow their agreed terms.
Mandatory consumer rights always apply where applicable.
And if something goes wrong:
Talk to us first. We'll look at what happened and work out the fairest appropriate solution.
Build better. Connect smarter. Scale sustainably.
